Decided to change out the rubber Von Buren strap on my Squale Montauk for a sailcloth strap with deployment clasp by Dassari. I’ve been wearing this watch for about 2 weeks with the new sailcloth strap. Here is my evaluation:
Pros: Great overall look and quality. The sailcloth side of the strap is sturdy and has a refined look, and the underside of the strap (I think it’s some kind of rubber or rubber-coated leather) is very comfortable on the wrist. The stitching is very well done. The strap is a tight fit between the lugs which I like since it make the strap feel very sturdy.
Cons: I have the “short” version for my 6.5 inch wrist. It would be great if there was another 10-15mm of length on the “long” side of the strap such that the part of the strap that tucks under the clasp extends past the hinge on the clasp. I think that would make the strap perfect. Also, the clasp is OK. The matte finish is great, but I find that my shirt cuff deploys the clasp on occasion. This has happened 3 times while wearing the watch.

Having a small wrist, I decided to replace the extra-long rubber strap on my Seiko Turtle and went with this “short” sailcloth strap with polished deployment clasp. Overall, I love the look. Here are my overall thoughts:
Pros: Nice looking and sailcloth seems refined and durable. Stitching is very well done. The lug width is a little tight, which I like since it makes for a solid feel.
Cons: I wish the “longer” side of the strap was about 10-15mm longer so it extends past the buckle even on the second to last hole. Had I gone with the “standard” I think it would have had too much strap to tuck in.
Since these were “buy-two get one free,” I ordered 3 of these (for different watches). I’ll give separate reviews on those straps.

Needed to replace a worm out bracelet on an older Seiko flight master. This strap fits the aesthetic perfectly and complements the colorway very nicely. The quick release clasp is nice and seems secure enough for my use. Definitely recommend

Very comfortable strap, my first experience with sailcloth. Looks amazing on this bronze watch!

Really nice strap for the price point. I put it on a 39mm Zulu time, just be a little careful because it was a snug fit and the lugs chewed a little at the strap. I did have trouble with the clasp but customer service quickly sent out a replacement, which was of course lost in the mail, and were then so kind as to send another replacement, which is working well dollar for dollar I really like the strap, the clasp on not sure on, but it is the same clasp that all the other sellers use.

Previous review on Black Sailcloth with ted stitching, clasp was defective and you sent a new one immediately. I must say I am rating you 5 stars now and the new clasp is perfect and holds solid and locks in crisply. Really accents the watch! Thank you for the assist and I will do more business with you!

I just received a black with red stitching. Beautiful looking, solid strap but buckle does not hold. There is hardly any metal flap to hold in the catch area. I hear it click in but I bend my wrist and it pops open. Not happy with the clasp.

Thank you for your feedback, and we’re glad to hear you like the look and quality of the strap. We’re very sorry to learn that the clasp isn’t holding securely—this definitely isn’t the experience we want for our customers. We sent an email to resolve this as soon as possible.

Fantastic strap and great Clasp. The clasp is crisp and secure with no noticeable slop or rattling. The strap was Initially stiff but after 2 days it’s broken in and super comfortable while still maintaining it’s structure. Great quality and looks fantastic. Exactly what I wanted.

Excellent clasp (Omega style) and good quality sailcloth strap. A good price too, many others are twice more expensive for the same quality. The green is a really nice shade, will mix with lots of watch styles.
