9 NBA All-Stars & Their Watches

The NBA Finals are in full swing at the moment, with the Celtics and Mavericks both fighting for the big win. And if you’re a basketball fan, you are no doubt familiar with the annual All-Star Game. For the uninitiated, it’s an annual basketball exhibition game that takes place every February, played by NBA’s star players. This year’s edition of the All-Star Game, which took place on February 18 at the Gainbridge Fieldhouse arena in Indianapolis, revived the Eastern Conference versus Western Conference format from 2017. The Eastern Conference All-Stars (captained by Giannis Antetokounmpo clinched a 211-186 victory over the Western Conference, captained by LeBron James.

NBA players are not only some of the highest-paid athletes in sports but some of the best-dressed too — and no wardrobe is complete without an excellent watch or two to round out the outfits. With that in mind, let’s get a closer look at what watches some of the NBA All-Stars wore off the court during the event-packed weekend.

Luka Dončić of the Dallas Mavericks had on an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Frosted White Gold with a beautiful smoked blue dial. This particular reference 26240BC.GG.1324BC.0 is a special edition model that made its debut in Japan in May 2023, and then eventually became available in the rest of the world. The combination of the Frosted Gold hammered finish on the case and integrated bracelet with the smokey effect of the tapisserie dial is striking.

Giannis Antetokounmpo Wore a Breitling Watch

Given that Giannis Antetokounmpo, of the Milwaukee Bucks, is a Breitling ambassador, it comes as no surprise that the captain of the Eastern Conference All-Stars wore Breitling watches during the NBA All-Star Game weekend. One of them was a stainless steel SuperOcean Automatic 44 ref. A17376211L2S1 dive watch with a turquoise dial, black ceramic bezel, and black rubber strap.

Damian Lillard Wore a Tissot Watch

Damian Lillard, also of the Milwaukee Bucks and also a watch brand ambassador, showed off a piece made in his honor during the All-Star 2024 festivities — the Tissot PRX Powermatic 80 Damian Lillard Special Edition. The gold PVD model features a black dial embossed with Lillard’s “0” jersey number and a seconds hand with his monogram. The caseback includes a depiction of the basketball doing his signature “Dame Time” wrist tap that follows his clutch performances on the court.

Tyrese Maxey of the Philadelphia 76ers is obviously a keen admirer of high horology as illustrated by the De Bethune DB28 Skybridge often spotted on his wrist – including during the 2024 All-Star Game weekend. The characteristic spacecraft-like-shape titanium case with patented floating lugs is home to a stunning blue dial, studded with white gold and diamond pins depicting the stars. Topping off the cosmic theme is the spherical moonphase indicator at 6 o’clock.

Anthony Davis of the LA Lakers has quietly been amassing quite the watch collection including hard-to-find pieces such as a Rolex Eye of the Tiger, an Audemars Piguet “Cactus Jack,” and he’s even been seen wearing the Patek Nautilus “Tiffany” (although that might have been on loan from his teammate LeBron James.) When he arrived in Indianapolis for the All-Star Game weekend, Davis wore a Richard Mille watch, which we can’t 100% identify but judging from the piece peaking out from his sleeve, it looks to be from the RM11 collection.

Donovan Mitchell Wore A Patek Philippe Watch

Donavan Mitchell of the Cleveland Cavaliers was seen with his Patek Philippe Nautilus Moonphase 5712R on his wrist, a watch he wears often. Mitchell’s version is a dressier take on the famed sporty Patek watch, furnished with a brown leather strap, rose gold case, and chocolate brown dial.

Stephen Curry Wore a Cartier Watch

WSSA0039 to be exact, featuring a black ADLC steel case and bezel, a black dial with black outlined hands, and a black rubber strap that can be swapped out for a black leather strap thanks to the easy-to-use interchangeable system.

From affordable Tissot to attainable Breitling to stratospheric Richard Mille and plenty in between, the watches spotted on the NBA players during the 2024 All-Star Game weekend were varied. It’s refreshing to see brands other than just Rolex on these elite athletes.
