My graduation present was a Mido power wind, with a well worn strap , I replaced the band, now it’s my dress watch. I never knew much about the Mido brand until a little research uncovered that I owned a little jewel of a watch, Swiss made, keeps great time and the look is classic. Recently, I picked up a couple of deals, one on Ebay for a Seiko skx013 and the other for a Seiko SARB017 for 269.00 on Amazon ,both has midsize cases. I was cursed with small wrists and large watches just doesn’t fit my anatomy ,also hard to find short watch bands, hint ,hint carry more short watch bands! I only have about half a dozen watches including a midsize Omega Seamaster, like most,I started relying on my phone for time but found out the extra motions one has to go through to check the time so back to a watch also a watch is great accessory item to one’s attire. I guess, the essence of my story is you never know what might set off a deep seated desire to start an interest, in my case watches.
