The OEM leather strap on my Seiko Alpinist was one of the few disappointments with an otherwise fantastic watch. It was noticeably stiff out of the box and never quite developed the comfort or character I was hoping for. After trying several aftermarket options, the StrapsCo Grey Vintage Suede Strap has emerged as not only the most casual choice in my collection, but quite possibly my favorite overall.
From the moment I installed it, this strap exceeded my expectations. The suede is incredibly supple with a soft, luxurious feel that makes the watch noticeably more comfortable on the wrist. Unlike many leather straps that require a lengthy break-in period, this one felt great from day one.
Visually, the strap is equally impressive. The grey suede offers a refreshing alternative to the dark brown and green straps that are so commonly paired with the Alpinist. The white accent stitching adds just the right amount of contrast, creating visual interest without becoming distracting. What I enjoy most is how the suede catches the light—the texture gives the strap remarkable depth and character, constantly shifting in appearance depending on the angle and lighting conditions.

Comfortable when finally installed. Was supplied with a slightly too long spring bar on the long portion, 20.75mm central tube for a 20mm strap. Swapped it out for a proper length one and it fit easily. Tore it slightly getting the spring bar out but it seems OK now.
